Carl Mackey - Lecturer in Sax, Improvisation and Ensemble


Carl Mackey has been on the professional jazz scene since the age of 16 and has played with the likes of Terell Stafford and Lionel Hampton. Apart from his stellar playing career, he is a former lecturer at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts. 


A musician with broad experience, both in Australia and overseas, and having recorded and performed in many styles of jazz, Carl brings an invaluable contribution to JMA and always 

challenges and inspires our students with his unique way of teaching.
